AUSTIN, Texas – Effective July 1, 2021, the Austin Convention Center (ACC) and the Palmer Events Center (PEC), have returned to pre-pandemic guidelines and are open for full capacity events. This includes removing all capacity and occupancy limits, social distancing, and mask requirements for in-person meetings and events.

“We are open! The planning and booking of large, small, and other local events are taking place at ACC and PEC, and our team is ready to bring your events to life,” said Paul Barnes, Austin Convention Center Department Deputy Director – Chief Operations Officer. “We are ready to host face to face events again in order that we may begin to heal our beleaguered meetings and events industry.”

The wearing of a face covering is optional for attendees, staff, and clients. If clients request face coverings for their attendees, enforcement is the client’s responsibility. ACCD will still offer health screenings and temperature checks as optional services if requested by the client. ACCD will also continue with the cleaning and sanitation protocols established over the last year to ensure our facility is clean and safe for your return.

Following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance, fully vaccinated people will no longer need to wear a mask except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws and regulations, including local business and workplace guidelines.

Masks may be required on public transportation and transportation hubs per CDC guidelines, and it is recommended that those who are not vaccinated continue to wear masks following social distancing and other cautions until fully vaccinated.
